15 years ago in my early 20 I had an abnormal pap. I had a biopsy and a colocscopy. Im pretty sure it was caused by exposure to HPV though it was never mentioned. I have had a pap every year since and they've all been normal. In late October 2012 I developed what I thought was a hemorrhoid. My symptoms were intense intense itching, raw cracked skin around the anus ( could have been from the itching) and bleeding. I tried prep h, sitz bath, diaper cream with zinc etc. Nothing helped. I finally broke down and made a dr appt in December. She confirmed my early abnormal pap was likely due to HPV and that I did not have a hemorrhoid, i was experiencing another HPV out break.. She did a swab on my vagina since the itch has spead to there. Results were normal bacteria and white blood cells. Internal swab has not come back yet. I will see a speacialist on Feb 5 but cant stop stressing about what it could be. An hpv outbreak years later in another area?? Ive been married for 7 years. My husband has never shown symptoms. I have taken a picture so I could look more closely, am I able to post on here?
These symptoms can be due to external hemorrhoids. Symptoms of external hemorrhoids may include painful swelling or a hard lump around the anus which may itch. Sometimes hemorrhoids will start off as red rash and anal itching. You should also get them examined from a surgeon to confirm the diagnosis.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
