HPV, two different Doctor's Opinions, Help?

Hi, I'm a 36 year old male...

I have been celibate for 4 1/2 years. Started a relationship 2 months ago. I have only practiced oral and manual stimulation with the hand with this partner. Lots of kissing and no other sexual contact at all. I realize that vaginal fluids, semen fluids, saliva and other things can get mixed up in the heat of the moment. These could carry the virus? Perhaps touching their privates then my own in the heat of the moment? Leaves me real confused.. I read hundreds of pages of web help that contradicts themselves as much as the Doctors. Why is all this stuff in the Dark Ages? It seems so...

About a week or two after our last sexual contact, I noticed a little itchy and sore spot after a long night of masturbation for me. I washed it and checked it out and I had 3 or 4 sore looking spots. They were small but I examined longer and they were on the bottom area of the shaft. Waited 6 days after doing extensive studying and then went to a Family Planning Center. There they said, it was not HPV or Herpes. I was relieved but still not fully certain. So I went to my regular Primary Doctor and he said it could be. The point of the Family Planning Doctor for a first outbreak it was much too mild to be either HPV/or HSV, were soft, and had no blisters. Looked nothing like either... They were so for certain... The family Doctor had a different opinion.

I've read tons on here and I'm totally and utterly confused, he placed some acid on the region and said one place what he saw something that looked somewhat like a wart. Although it's damned confusing, I have seen them before and I cannot be certain. Now I sit totally confused, no real diagnosis despite seeing two different Doctors... I am totally up to here with the whole thing!

It's very frustrating upsetting... Do I have to wait for another break out if it ever happens to have a definitive answer? Or is there none for a Male? What should I tell my partners? Whose diagnosis should I go with?

Good lord

Thanks for your informed advice, and direction, yours truly ~Me

Thank you, really much. I am hoping that is correct. I really do not want the anxiety right now and I let these things get to me too much. When so many pages say so many things, it's like navigating through a panic attack.

When my Family Practitioner looked at one patch of skin near the foreskin and said that looks sort of like a wart, I probably should have stopped, put the breaks on and taken myself to somewhere, where they do a biopsy ... or see if it healed quickly or enlarged. It is so hard to tell these are so small! So peculiar.

If this clears without issue I will test. It's been ten years and one wife ago. I have been too relaxed.

And thank you, I had no clue they still did not use VD. Learned about sex from a 70s Sex Book! I am way out of the loop

it's really doubtful that these were warts. the provider irritated your skin needlessly. you didn't have the contact it needed to transmit warts as well as they wouldn't show up that quickly.  at this point I'd just do something simple like apply a&d ointment, desitin or aquaphor to the irritated area to soothe it and protect it while it heals.

you've been naked with someone so it's time to start talking std's and testing. odds are neither of you have ever been tested for herpes either so you will both have to look into your testing to know for sure.

also we haven't called it vd since the 60's....he he he

The area is still very swollen from the acid the Doctor applied, it's not gone and as of tomorrow it will be two weeks since what was an outbreak of something. One time I wish I lived in a major city with very experienced STI professionals.

I have not discussed it with my partner yet as I'm picking the proper time and the right way to approach them. I am feeling guilt here and I'm afraid of the blame game. Especially with a mixed diagnosis. We had discussed VD but I just didn't put enough emphasis on it.

I have not had the Gardasil Shot. I gambled a bit here with this partner and it is my 6th partner in my life. I have no clue if they have had it either, maybe when we talk things will come out..if they had an outbreak recently and I'm open and they tell me about it, it may bring much to light.

It's such a touchy subject, I know so many people that have lied to other people or did it to another out of spite. Or some out of fear... It's sad! I'm learning more than I ever thought though lately about the new age of VD.

Even how hard it is to detect in men, without any testing for HPV.. I feel a bit lost!

these don't sound like warts at all especially if they are gone by now.

have you and this partner discussed stds and testing?  have you both had type specific herpes igg blood tests since your other partners? have you both had your gardasil shots?
