Recently dx'd with hpv 18. heading for a colposcopy. I had dyplasia about 20 yrs ago and had a conization. My partner was told he has Molluscum contagiosum and reports it has been spreading. my questions: are they related? He was told "it would go away" and no treatment was provided. I had a dna/wet prep prior to the colpo to make sure of being infection free prior. My GC/trich/chlaymdia are negative. But this does not rule out other STDs such as herpes, etc correct?
My concern is a miss diagnosis of my partner by his practitioner. How are males tested for HPV. I know women find out via PAP smear if it is chosen to be done. .
