HPV Test

I posted this question in the women's health forum earlier, but thought I would post it here also since this community is specifically dedicated to HPV.  My friend, age 69, recently had sex with a man just this past weekend, and has now found out that he has the HPV virus.  She wants to see her doctor to get tested for this.  What sort of test is indicated, and how much time does she need to wait after sexual contact before the test yields reliable results?  By the way, she had a hysterectomy many years ago and therefore does not have a uterus or cervix.

Average time from exposure to infection is 2-8 months. Some people are reporting that they get a positive result within a few weeks. This is abnormal but everything about this virus is too. There are no real hard rules.

Having genital HPV does not mean one has oral HPV too. If he touched himself and then immediately touched her, it is still extremely unlikely he passed it onto her. Some people may get infected from this, but its rare. But she can be tested for HPV anyway if she has been sexually active with 4 or more people in her entire life.

I should add that the sex she had was non-penetrative -- oral and manual only with some use of fingers in the anus.
