HPV Transmission Questions

Can I get HPV from an infected person's clothing touching mine?

How long can HPV (including high risk ones) live outside the body, like inanimate objects, clothing, door knobs...

Can it be transmitted through casual contact like hugging, handshaking, or even touch an object after the infected person has touched.

Sorry if my questions sound dumb. I am an anxious person.

I have genital warts and i read on the net that said it will be transmitted thru skin to skin contact only. However, when i ask my doctor abt it, he say that is not true. It can be spread via clothing, towel or an infected person have juz scratch his/her warts and touches something, the virus will be there too.

I did not argue with him coz he is a doctor while i m not lol....

Fyi, last monday he treated me with podophyllin (applied by him in the clinic), gave me a blue colour cream, antibiotic and a dark liquid to be diluted in water to wash my genital warts. Almost 90% of my warts fell off/disappeared and today i went to see him again as told. He again apply podophyllin and sent me home without giving me any other medicine/cream.

Your question are all answered with a No. Infection occurs from oral sex or from genital sex when genital skin strongly rubs against other genital skin.
