HPV Transmission

by calikid234, Nov 04, 2009 04:24AM
Hi, I'm 20 and I had been diagnosed with HPV (Genital Warts) about 8 months ago and treated them. I just recently got back into dating and am now trying to be sexually active...but find it hard to muster up the courage to actually do it. I am seeing a girl now, and told her that I do in fact have HPV...God bless her heart, she still loves me.. BUT, for obvious reasons, we haven't had sex yet. She has given me several handjobs, which I am now concerned may have spread it to her...is that possible? If I have no visible warts, and using a condom, can I still transfer this burden to her? Can i receive oral without worrying about infecting her? She said she still wants to be with me, even considering the fact I'm infected; I just worry that no sex at all can ruin the relationship...I feel crippled and lost...Please help me.

If the warts have been gone for those 8 months, there is a good chance that you are no longer contagious.

In any case, don't worry about the handjobs, these are safe.
