HPV Vaccine for Men

Hi...

I have genital warts and would like to protect my partner (who knows about my condition) from contracting the virus.
Is the Gardasil vaccine safe to be used on men to prevent genital warts?
Is there a vaccine being developed specifically for men? If so any idea on when it will be available?
How likely is a man to develop penile or throat cancer from an HPV infection? 1 out of 1,000 etc?

Thanks

yes it will....Gardisil protects agains low risk strains 6 and 11...u will be protected against a strain he gave u...u could still gets warts again in the future from a strain u didn't have...but it is better than nothing at all..not to mention the protection it gives u against the high risk..but u still should use condoms!

my ex boyfriend only just realised he had genital warts one week after i had unprotected sex with him. i've had teh gardisil injections so will this lower my risk of contracting the infection? it's been over a couple of months and from what i can see i haven't gained any symptoms...

if u have warts the Gardisil vaccine will not help u!Austrailia is working on a vaccine for low risk hpv warts...still in research phases.low numbers of men in US with penile and throat cancer from HPV.u don't say whether ur partner is a male or female!if female and under 26 and hasn't had hpv vet she should get the Gardisil....if she's had hpv once the shot will protect her from other strains plus vulval/vaginal cancers.
