HPV/Warts

Hello I have a question!

I usually ahve a like itch in the lower area of my pubic area where the shaft of my penis joins the rest of my  body. Most times when i get hot down there it may itch or sometimes just a little itch. (Jock itch, HPV, or nothing?)
About a year and a half ago my girl friend was said to have contracted the HPV virus but she was faithful to me but i cant figure where i may have contacted it althought i never heard any female i slept with complain or show sysmptoms.
I want to knwo if that maybe tiny warts i cants see or just an itch. I took an STD test and it came back negative for everything except HPV as you knwo we cant really test for it.

PS If a guy has HPV how would you know if its gone / reduced and would i be able to have unprotected sex with my partner and not worry of HPV resurfacing or we will ahve it for the rest of our lives..?

Did your girlfriend have low or high risk HPV?  Only low risk HPV causes warts.

There's no way to tell if a guy has HPV unless he breaks out in warts.  After 3-6 months of not having anymore warts, he can safely assume he's no longer contagious.  It is unlikely you'll have transmittable HPV the rest of your life.  There's a lot of good information about this in the expert forums.

If you see any warts, go to a doctor.  Otherwise, don't worry.

Hey She had the high risk i guess because she had to get something done to her cervix or something of that nature.
I have never seen any wart, just time to time it get a little itch but mainly when im hot down there.
I was curious since they say soem wart are so small that you can barely see them.
So if it was the high risk then chances are i can't tramit it to anyone or us to each other.,.

PS: Can we have unprotected sex and not worry about re tramission?

Thank you

If she had high risk HPV, it will never cause warts and men can obviously contract high risk HPV, there is just simply no test to detect it in males.  You can still transmit high risk HPV if it is still active.  You can not re-infect each other with the same strain of HPV, there will be no "re transmission".  It sounds like you don't need to worry.
