HPV and future partners

Hi all , I hope somebody can ease my worries as I am at my wit's end.
My situation is that I picked up a hpv from an ex girlfriend which led to me having a genital wart frozen off,which luckily never returned.
This ex girlfriend had some pre cancerous cells removed from her cervix,which I know caused her some worry and obvious concerns.
This all happened 6 years ago and we split up 2 years ago.Ive not had a sexual relationship since as I am too worried about infecting somebody with the high strain of hpv.
I have read up a bit on this topic but Ive found some of the info different, -itsdormant and may return at any time and some say that a person's immune system can rid the virus within up to 2 years.
Basically the questions I am asking are
1)Can this virus lay dormant or somebody's immune system clear it.
2)Should I tell future partners about my old relationship and its effects
    As I picked up the high strain off my ex girlfriend and because she got precancerous cells does that mean that everybody that strain will be effected in the same way  
3)When is it safe to have sex again without passing on the virus
4)Is it possible to pass on hpv through oral sex

1. unfortunatly..docs aren't completely sure (conflicting verdicts)..though the majority of info seems to say that the MAJORITY about 90% of pple who get HPV  "clear"/suppres the virus into dormancy and don't have any future problems after the 6 months to 2yrs that it usually takes the immune system.
2. Again..there is conflicting info from the medical community.. if it were me..I'd want to know..even though the majority of sexually active ppl have HPV
3. Your ex girlfriend having pre cancerous cells  DOESN't mean that your future partners will get precancerous cells..90% of the pple who get HPV NEVER have any medical issues..
4. unfortunately for men there is no test to see if the virus is active..so you'll never know..using condoms will def help to prevent the virus from being transferred to the cervix..but any genital to genital contact can spread the HPV to other areas(vulva, anus).
5.yes it's possible to pass HPV thru oral sex..

basically everytime that ppl have sex w/ a new partner they are potentially exosing themselves to the virus which is why it's SO common..hope this helps

I have HPV. I am 19 years old, i first got it when I was 15 and they thought it went away but it came back a year and a half ago.  They told me it laid dormant. I believe it can lay dormant but most likely you dont have it.
