in october, then a month or two ago I developed symptoms of HPV and a few weeks ago I found out I had it... I don't know if I've had it for awhile or if I got it after my vaccination, but whatever. I went to the doctor and got it checked out and yeah. Then I got my second dose last week, and I'm due for my third in 12 weeks. The gardasil vaccine
if for HPV prevention, so it really sucks I got it before I got all my doses.. But after I get my 3 doses, will I still be immune even though I got the vaccinations while I had HPV? Does having it affect how well the vaccination will work for me in the future? Because HPV is only temporary, and im guessing I've had it for about 8 months now so it should go away very soon. My doctor told me my immune system is better than the average person and the average person usually has HPV for 8-18 months.. So that's good. But I'm just confused as to how the vaccine
that the vaccine is supposed to protect you from, then it doesn't matter if it was in the shot now because you will have an immunity to it because you contracted it and fought it off. If it's a different strain, then you'll be immune to the strains of Gardasil as well as this other strain once you've fought it off. It doesn't really matter how long you've had HPV as far as trying to figure out when it's gone and you are no longer a threat to be contagious. The time period to be sensitive to is three to six months after your last wart removal. If you haven't had a re-occurrence by then you can consider yourself free of the virus. I don't know the science of what happens in the body if you are already battling a strain andt then suddenly a vaccine form of the same shows up.
