HPV carriers

I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me on somev facts of how long touch can be carriers of hpv.
My partner of 9 years recently had sexual contact with another girl. He told me straight away and he went and got tested, this came back clear.
However recently she has now told me she has been diagnosed with hpv and it could have only been him she got it from as she had not had sexual partner in 2 years.
What I need to know is that is it likely that she could have been a carrier for that long without knowing?

And he could not have gotten tested for HPV. There is no test for men in the US, Europe, Japan, etc. How I wish there was, but there isn't.....

Ok thank you. It's such a ridiculous thing there's so much information about it on the internet it's hard to know what to believe.

Yes, that is correct. She could have been a carrier (for a long time) and not even know it. Most ppl don't know they have hpv because they have no signs of it.

Bottom line, she can't pin it on him.
