HPV confusion and questions

Hi I'm curious about several things.  I just found out from my GYN that I had abnormal cells in my PAP and tested positive for HPV.  Knowing that HPV is sexually transmitted, I'm curious as to how I got it since my husband and I have only been in a relationship with one another.  Is it possible to contract it in another way?  My GYN said it was very rare and I asked if I could have gotten it from transvaginal ultrasounds that I had with my preterm labor/twins in lat 2008/early 2009.  That is the only place I could thing of where it might have came from.

Also, I am a nervous wreck about having the colposcopy...not the procedure itself, but of having to wait and the results.  I had to wait two weeks AFTER the GYN office notified me that I needed to come in.  Did anyone else have the same experience?  I am making myself sick and my brain just wonders with all of the waiting and wondering about the results.  Does anyone have any comforting words or suggestions?

If so, then either of you could have been infected and it is now becoming active in your system. HPV can lye dormant in your body for years and will react or become active when you get sick or your immune system lowers.

NEVER been with anyone else...I'm curious if I could have picked it up at the doctor's office or how in the world I got it.
