HPV from Bar Soap

by ohio444, Nov 04, 2009 04:21PM
Hello Doctors,

A few weeks ago I shared a hotel room w/ a co-worker and used the same hand soap in the bathroom and shower. No towels were shared. I was stunned when he casually informed me after the fact he had recently had wart removed from his penis. I was assured it was not the "HPV" type, but all of this sounds strange to have a random wart on his genitals. Is there any chance to contract HPV (if the was in fact what he had) if the soap was wet when I used it flowing his shower? The anxiety is getting the best of me and don't want the possibility of infecting my wife. Thank you in advance.

It is a type of HPV, but you CANNOT get genital warts from sharing towels, soaps etc. Skin to skin is the only way. So relax!
