HPV in a relationship

A few months ago I found out I had hpv, the doctor informed me that it was not a serious infection and it should go away on it's own within a few months. I have only had one sexual relationship, the one I am in now for 1year, and before this my bf and I were not using condoms, just oral contraceptives. I do not have the warts strain, but he does and is currently being treated for it with Aldara cream. We have been using condoms ever since I found out I had the virus and have not since he started his treatment. Can we still have sex while he is being treated? Am I at risk of contracting warts or any other strain? After his warts clear up can I reinfect him? Can he reinfect me? Will we ever be able to go back to only birth control and not condoms? Do we have to worry about many future occurrences of hpv?

Well to be honest I think it is from giving oral to my BF who obviously has it as well...

Both him and myself have had bumps but they are so small/flat that its like we dont' even have it... we both been infected for 6 month or more and we are realizing they are not showing up as much any more and the ones we have are going away... And that is with out treatments.

Luckly the one on my upper lip is the same so small and flat only i can really tell it is a wart.

How do you get them on your face?

Most likely you have this strain you just may not have an active infection. No he can't reinfect you once infected you can't be reinfected with that specific HPV... but (lets say he is having sex with multiple partners and picks up a different strain of HPV... he could then infect you with that new strain)... Not to say he is just wanted to give you an example.

You can still have sex is it not going to change anything you both probably have both types as you've had unprotected sex for a year...

I have learned that most HPV infections will clear themselfs with in two years.

The one thing you want to remember is that scratching, shaving them can spread them, I use two different razors one for that area and one for my legs and pits, and I haven't had many problems... I did notice I've had one on my face but it is not noticable to someone who is not looking for it... you really don't have much to worry about.
