HPV on Oropharynx and Genital

Doctor,
Approximately just over two years ago I was diagnosed with Genital Warts (HPV).  Shortly after the diagnosis I began having pain in the left side of my neck under my chin (in the Lymph Region beside the hyoid).  I have had two CT Scans that returned negative for any mass, however every doctor has sent me away telling me that my pain is all in my head and that I have nothing to worry about. Around the same time that the pain began in my neck I noticed small lumps in the back of my throat on my oropharynx, and one on my uvula.  When I asked the Docotr (Local Family Doctor) he said it was nothing, however he also said that about my original Genital HPV symptoms that turned out to be a positive Genital Wart Diagnosis from the Local Sexual Health Unit.  I was also sent to an ENT who completely disregarded my concerns, briefly looked down my throat with a mirror, and sent me on my way telling me he did not see anything troubling.  My main questions and concerns are as follows:

1. Is it possible the pumps in the back of my throat ARE HPV? As the very first picture on Google that comes up when searching ''HPV Throat Men'' is a mirror image of my throat.

2. Is the pain under my chin possibly HPV related? And if so should I be concerned? As the two CT Scans came back negative.

3. After approximtately 2.5 Years is there any hope of the infection clearing? The longest I have gone without a recurrence is 2 months, however I have never been fully convinced that all the warts were completely cleared during treatment as the one wart seems to reoccur every time on top of the newly acquired scar tissue from the previous treatment.

I am scheduled for another treatment with Podophlin (Correct spelling may differ), and will most likely follow that up with the 16 week treatment of Aldera and see what happens.  Hopefully this time around it will get rid of them for good.

Is there hope that I will eventually be rid of this aweful disease as it consumes every minute of my life for the past 2.5 Years.  Every Doctor that I have seen has been of no help, and it seems that every Doctor I have seen contradicts the previous Doctor.  Please help.

Thank you for your time

hi Clance,

To ask a doctor I think you have to post in the "ask a expert" forum, i think they take $20 but they reply to your post.

I can't really answer your questions regarding the throat part. Sorry.

You said that you have had reoccurances for 2.5 years? It seems to me like you're saying that you only get one wart on top of the scar. How many did you use to have before? Im sure over time you've noticed that less and less warts were appearing. Besides Aldara, what other treatments do you usually do or have done?

I know I've heard that this virus is beatable and that people do end up clearing the virus. Your immune system has a lot to do with suppressing the virus to the point where it doesn't cause anymore outbreaks. Usually it takes 2 years but it seems like you're a little bit over that period. But don't worry, you will end up clearing this thing one day and it will just have been a minor inconvenience.

Don't let this thing run your life, know its beatable and just go with a positive attitude about it. I know it sucks whenever those things show up but hey atleast we know that we can beat it. Just hang in there man. Also, let me know which treatments you've done, there might be better treatments for the warts.
