HPV or Molluscum Contagiosum?

I'm 28 yrs old and when I was 18 was told that I have Molluscum Contagiosum.  I was young and embarassed, and got it confused with HPV!  Until today, and many relationships later, realized that I have MCV(Molluscum).  Now, here's where it is tricky!!  I'm in a new relationship, and informed my girlfriend the other night that i had HPV.  After doing extensive research, I realized and remembered that I have MCV.  Quite the relief!  I tried explaining this to her, and sounds like BS somewhat, but the pictures, symptoms, everything line up with MCV.  I haven't had any lesions, or bumps, in 8 yrs!!  She wants me to get tested, but from my understanding the lesions have to be visible for diagnosis, and a possible skin biopsy performed.  Please help me with any advice on what to do!?

the only thing to do to tell her your whole story and ask her to look up info on it so she has an understanding of it and feel more comfortable with something that may be unknown to her.  Molluscum can go away on its own at max 5 years or so and you've never had them in 8 yrs so you should be clear of it.
