About a week ago, I noticed this bump again, exactly on the same spot and a little bigger than the last time. It's mostly flat, but if I irritate it by shaving, it gets bigger. This time it's somewhat painful and uncomfortable, and Im starting to worry if this might in fact be an HPV wart. Can this be the case? If so, it means that the bf I was with at that time, was an HPV carrier without any symptoms of is own, and now it's passed on to me. I've been applying tea tree oil to the "spot", and it is in fact disappearing. It's been about 5 days since I "found" it and I'm thinking in a couple of more it will be gone. Do you think this is HPV, or something else? Also, how often do HPV warts reappear and do the symptoms get worse? Also, when the symptoms reappear, are these HPV warts ALWAYS found in the SAME place as before?
The thing is, I go to the gynecologist to get testet very regularly, and I have never been diagnosed with HPV since I started to be sexually active. IF I had HPV warts, would the pap smears have shown some signs of this over the years? Or are HPV warts diagnosed only when symptoms are present? Last time I saw a doctor, all my tests came back negative, and the pap smear was normal.
If you have had 3 sexual partners, then you have already been exposed to HPV.
The bump you're talking about doesn't sound like a wart but only a dr. could tell you for sure.
Just b/c you get a negative hpv test doesn't not mean that you don't have hpv. HPV is often dormant and goes negative during tests.
Don't worry about HPV b/c you will be exposed to at least a few types in your sexual lifetime. 85% of the sexually active people have HPV and most don't know it. 50% of girls get HPV in their first year of becoming sexually active.
For more info, go to the dr's forum and search under HPV.
But for your bump, you need to have that looked at by a dr. Noone can diagnose you online.
