HPV test

Hi,

I received an unprotected fellatio from a sex worker.

I did an HPV-DNA by PCR test after 3 months - Negative.  How accurate is such test and does it cover all HPV?

Why on the CDC website it says that for men there are no HPV test!!?  http://www.cdc.gov/std/hpv/STDFact-HPV-and-men.htm

Because the DNA test is unreliable. There is no approved and reliable test for men in the USA.

who says it is unreliable? so why is it poposed in Labs outside of the US?

I called the Lab and he said that the HPV PCR test would detect any HPV

Just based on what I read on Doctor's Forum.  Post this there and for $25, lets see if they have changed their mind on this test.

I would just be grateful if you can explain why it is not reliable and why many labs are offering such tests?

It should be noted that it is only in the US where such test is not available. But in the EU and in other countries such test is available.
