HPV throat

Hi I’m 28; I was with a new male partner 11 months ago, after being in a monogamous relationship for 8 years. I started getting soreness in my throat 4 months ago. I can only describe it as difficulty swallowing, tightness in the throat and constant irritation. When looking at my throat you could only see redness. I save a doctor about it 4 months ago and he swabbed for 'bugs', which was negative.
He game me a script for antibiotics that treat skin infections, but it didn’t make a difference.
I saw my doctor again and he swabbed for more STD’s. They all returned negative.
When I got home I used the blunt end of a knife the push my tongue down and inspect the very back of my tongue in a mirror, there are many clusters of hard white bumps on the back of my throat and tongue, when I softly pushed one with a cotton bud it began to bleed a fair amount.

I told my doctor that I think after having oral sex with the most recent partner that I might have warts in my throat, but he dismissed the possibility and refused to check the very back of my throat. I saw another GP and she said its not possible to get genital warts in the throat.

Should I worry? Id like them removed as they are causing discomfort and the bleeding is a concern, also I feel they are spreading, but I’m not getting any help from GP's

Good advice from nurse dear!i know u'll follow through!Ah these males are a smarmy lot are they not?Try not to be 2 hard on urself....in time it will pass.i was celibate for 10 years..met my now x...foolishly b-lieved what he told me about no sex for 3 years...thought it ok not to use condoms and ended up with high risk HPV and a LEEP surgery.I'm lucky thats all I got!I beat myself up 4 quite awhile.Doing much better now.Lets hope that this throat infection is just that...some type of viral infection.Sometimes it takes an Mega strong antibiotic to kick it!Please keep us informed. There is a lot of support here.Best of luck to u!:)

He didn’t have any thing suspicious on his penis.
AFTER being with him I found out that he'd spent many years trawling dating sites and attended 'swingers' parties, also made a few visits to Thailand.
I am no longer with him, and cannot confirm if he ever had warts removed before I met him.
I didn’t even know genital warts existed until now. STD clinics in Australia do not offer any type of viral wart identification.
I was lonely and vulnerable and made mistakes just hope I’m not paying for it with my health/life.

I just spoke to a nurse and she's recommended that I insist on a referral to a throat specialist.

In the USA which is where I am the prevalence of oral/throat HPV warts according to the data is low.But it is possible to get them  there.Did ur partner have warts in his genital area?U've been to two docs and they r saying no oral std warts and given u meds that didn't help..I've read in this forum that one can get gonorrhea orally. Can u go get a second opinion at a a std clinic?I think it would ease ur mind.Perhaps the antibiotics the docs gave u weren't strong enuf to zap ur infection!
