HPV transmission

I am a man married for over 17 years. I have been in a relationship with another woman for 3 years. My mistress was recently diagnosed with HPV. We have had unprotected sex only a couple times since she went on the pill and she is waiting for test results back from Pap. My mistress had cervical cancer 5 years ago. Does this mean that the same HPV is back and causing the same problem for her?

I wear a condom with my wife since she came off the pill some months back.I need to find out if I have HPV so that I can protect myself and my wife if I have HPV. Need some suggestion on how to monitor it and know when it is cleared. Any suggestions.

Sorry if confusing but need some help. Don't know what to do.

I have HPV. I am 31 years old and several women from my generation have it because it's something they just oops discovered. There is no test for men. Men do not get HPV, they carry it. Do you know anyone that never gets the Flu, but you can still get sick from them? It's because some people are "carriers" of the Flu virus. It's basically the same with HPV, men don't have it, so it's undetectable, but they do carry it and pass it on. Trust me, if it was something I could have seen or something that would have come up on his STD tests, then I wouldn't have it now. Trust me, if she has it, you are now a carrier.

it is also possible that ur mistress may have HPV she acquired from another other than u within the 3 yr.period.If women are vigilant about their paps on a yearly basis and claim they've only been with one partner for a period of time then irregularities on paps show up within this time. The doctors in the STD forum state that it is possible that HPV can lie dormant for some time but generally xposure to the many strains of this virus appear within a years time frame.U need to go to the Experts forum-std's and read up on HPV transmission.Drs.Hook and Handsfield have 30 years of experience between them.

I am not judging u just rendering an opinion as a female! If it is ok for u to be married and be unfaithful then it is ok for me to state i'm glad i'm not in these womens shoes!I have had high risk HPV biopsies colposcopys and a LEEP and follow up paps.U as a male will never xperience this u fortunate person. It is not comfortable to have an 18 inch copper wire up u burning off cervical flesh that exits over a months time!

Thank you for the information. I do not sleep with any other women. Just in love with 2 so no worries there.

I do not believe that HPV was detected 5 years ago, but assume that it was the cause of the cervical cancer. No one knows. I will see when her tests come back what strain she has.

Still need to find a way to see if I have it. Just need to know.

Not all cervical cancers are caused by HPV.Did she have HPV five years ago? There is no test for a man for high risk HPV which is the strain that causes cervical issues. If ur mistress has it than u can be highly sure u have it and ur wife will get it and very may well already have it.Condom useage only protects 60-90% since this is a virus that will go thru skin membranes.Do u have sexual contact with other women?if so u put urself and ur wife and mistress at risk for the many HPV strains one can get...and there are over 30 of them.
