HPV warts

by hildur, Nov 08, 2009 05:24PM
1.) I have been diagnosed with HPV and i think i might have it in my mouth, if i do have it in my mouth, can i infect others with the virus by kissing them?
2.) I am also concerned about using mascaras or eyeliners from others (i know that it's never a good idea to use mascara from others) Is it possible to infect others by using their mascara?
3.) Does the virus ever really leave your body? and is it safe to have sex after the visible warts are gone?
4.) I read somewhere that it is not a good idea to use the same towel as others or wash your clothes with other laundry but yours, is that true?

Hey,

1)  I don't think you have it in your mouth.  It is probably a ulcer or canker and should clear up in a couple of days.  Talk to your doctor if it persists.

2)  Not sure about this one since I don't personally use them.  But I cannot see them affecting you or your eye in any way.

3)  I am not sure if it ever really leaves your body.  I think you have read my post and responded to me.  I hope it does.  I have been clear of visible warts for 3 years.  I have read different opinions on this.  I would recommmend having protected sex even after the visible warts are gone.  After you are in a committed and serious relationship then you should discuss unprotected sex with your partner.  But I am no doctor.

4)  I think this is just a fairy tale.  I don't think sharing the same towel or washing your clothes in the same laundry could possibly do anything harmful.
