Help!!

I had condyloma frozen from my vulvar area over 20 years ago with no pain or problems afterward.
It came back about 7 years ago and I had it removed with a laser.  I've had exteme pain and burning after intercourse ever since in the area where the condyloma were removed.
I just had the area biopsied and they found no condyloma, but have given me a topical steroid to use called Clobetasol Propionate 0.05%.  He said to use it twice a day until it's gone which should take about six weeks.
He said I may have vulvadynia where the condyloma were removed.
After doing some reading on the internet that a steroid is the worst thing to use in an area where there was HPV in the past and that you are only supposed to use the steroid for up to 2 weeks, I am concerned that it will make the HPV come back, that I shouldn't use it longer than two weeks if at all.
I would appreciate any other suggestions for what can be better to help the burning and pain.  Would Estrace be better?  Has anyone else had this problem?
Thank you!!
