How HPV Spreads

Please could somebody tell me if HPV spreads only through sexual contact? or can it be spread via other means?
For instance can it be inherited geneticly?

MizzHardy is right, but I would like to add that HPV is rarely spread during birth, and almost always cleared within a few months, so an adult would not have an HPV infection that was contracted at birth.

It is a skin infection and is not inherited genetically.
