How long can HPV ( the virus that causes common warts) live on clothing?

I am wondering how long the virus HPV can live outside the body on objects and clothing? Say someone with a wart touched an item of my clothing, and their infected skin cells are on it, how long could this item be infectious for? After a year would this item still be infectious and be a possible way of catching warts or does the virus die only after a few months on clothing/objects?

Viruses like HIV and HPV need living cells to replicate. However, there have been studies showing the presence of the virus on inanimate objects up to 24h-7days:

After a year? I really don't think so. Plus, which piece of clothing or sex toy you don't wash for an entire year? You could get something nastier than HPV that way :P
