Hpv and molluscum contagiosm

My girlfriend was diagnosed and  has been treated for hpv, which I believe i passed on to her because my ex also had it. I never had any signs but as of 4 months ago i noticed small bumps around my pubic area. I recently went to a derm n they told me it was molloscum contagiusm. Does this have anything to do with hpv? Could i have had this before and it is appearing now or did my girlfriend just pass this on to me?... I have been with her for a year and am just now seeing these warts 4 months ago!?

MC and HPV are different viruses. Some doctors may mistake the warts and MC, but a dermatologist would know the difference.

Your girlfriend's infection could have come from you or a previous partner. You both have been exposed now, and either have, or had this particular strain.
