Hpv-gardasil

I was just curious how many individuals had or have gotten the gardasil vaccine after their diagnosis of hpv? After finding out about my own hr hpv the three gynos I saw suggested I get it. I've had my first shot a little over a month ago and have started researching a lot about it since I now constantly feel fatigued which is not normal for me, I'm debating on getting the second shot after reading about the so many unknowns about the vaccine and side effects several individuals have posted on forums similar to this one. My hr hpv is not 16 or 18 so the vaccine could potentially help. Just worried already I'm experiencing fatigue, which is keeping me from exercising and i run everyday but just cant get the energy to do anything since i got the first shot and most side effects occur it seems after shot 2, I'm also concerned about infertility issues associated with the vaccine even though no concrete studies have been made. Anyone have any info to share would be appreciated.

Wow! I did not know this! Guess I should be careful before I post! Sorry guys! :) In that case then, hope you feel better soon, Daisy! Listen to Hollyv, she's very knowledgeable! :o) I shouldn't single myself out because of my good experience with Gardasil!

Thanks hollyv for your advice I've also had random bruising all over my body and they're taking over a month already to heal I still have some on my legs, my arms and my side and I do not nor have I ever bruised easily. Hopefully these systoms will go away if I do not take the last two shots.

It is important to listen to your own body. It is also important to make your own decision regarding Gardasil, not just what the Dr.’s suggest. Extreme fatigue has been reported after Gardasil along with other symptoms. Some people get the shots and have no problem and some others experience extreme side effects. Some girls experience extreme auto immune problems. Gardasil only protects against 4 strains of HPV—2 high and 2 low. You have to evaluate your own risk, if you plan to get Paps every year then you should not need Gardasil. It appears that Gardasil has in rare cases triggered extreme neurological conditions. I would be informed before I took the 2nd and 3rd shots—Merck did a great job of marketing and you can go to their site and read their literature and you should also go to the ‘truthaboutgardasil’ site and ‘sane vax’ and do some reading. The latter two sites will talk about girls that have had extreme bad reactions and these are rare but it is important to be informed before you take anything. It has also been suggested in the literature recently that Gardasil is only effective for 5 years and Cervarix for 8.5 years. A relative of mine only took the first shot and then had severe vomiting for several days and then fatigue for several weeks, and after a little research she decided not to continue with the shots. It is a fairly new vaccine on the market and it is a personal choice.

I Doubt the vaccine is what's making you fatigued. I had the vaccine done when I was 25 and I'm 28 now, and pregnant! :) I wouldn't worry so much about what you read on the internet about the vaccine, sometimes it can make one psycho-symmatic (mind games). I would definately follow through with the rest of your shots! :)
