Hpv worried?

i had sex for the first time back in Jan,2011 unprotected oral sex and protected sex. Month later i got a very small red bump that look like a pimple on my shaft. So i went to get tested hsv-1 pos and rest are neg. It took about 3-4 week that bump went away. But today it came back at the same spot. I went to std clinic, the doctor toke a look and he don't know what it is since it very small to tell if it hpv. He told me that he can pick the bump out and sent it to the lab to check if it hpv but it will cost me $595. Is this true? thought there no test for hpv? Does this sound like hpv? Oh yeah i told him to do swab test on the bump for herpes. He toke  a small amount of blood from the bump in 10-15 min he told me it was neg.

virus are so confusing and hard to find a cure ;[. I still have the single bump on my shaft. If it doesn't go away in 1-2 week going to different std clinic and get tested for hpv and hsv again. Better safe then sorry right. Don't want to give this to my gf. I had a weird pain from the head of my penis.

There are two debates going on. One says once you had a strain and it is cleared, it is gone for good. The other side says it merele becomes so weak that DNA tests could detect it in the tissue where the HPV was before. I think the later case is true. Most people who had sex have had HPV by the time they are in their middle age. It is not worth worrying about.

Thank you. It could be genital herpes 1 from unprotected oral sex or HPV. I look up hpv on the internet it said HPV can be very small, flat, raised, clusters and cauliflower shape. Is this true once you have HPV it will always be in you system even your immune fight it off? My plan is wait until it disappear and if it comes back pay $595 to check if it hpv.

There is no test for high risk HPV on the male genitals. But for visible warts, yes they are HPV and they can be biopsied and those are low risk.

The doctors on the STD expert site will tell you they could not tell what the red bump is, but your doctor can. But from what you describe, it does not seem like an HPV wart. It certainly is not genital herpes since your test was negative. The real HSV-1 and HSV-2 tests that are conclusive are blood tests. HPV warts are usually in clusters and cauliflower shaped. If what you have is certainly an HPV wart, it seems your virus is not spreading but very weak. If you are patient and can wait it out another fifteen months, you will probably clear it. Personally I would not pay $595 if I suspect it's HPV and I would just be sure to strengthen my immune system and wait it out and let the body fight and clear the virus.
