If HPV causes warts once will it every time?

I was diagnosed with HPV 5 years ago. I had a leep performed and havn't had any problems personally sense. However the man I started dating a year after my leep did get genital warts, which I can assume is from my HPV strand. It's been almost 3 years sense I have been with him and am wanting to have intercourse with my new partner. I am worried that he may contract the warts as well. I know that sometimes the virus can cure itself in a woman. I am wondering that just because partner A got warts, if that means my new partner would get them as well?

Dont you mean 90% of HPV infection clears within 2yrs. As far as i kno its 50% in 6 months, 70% in 1yr and 90% in 2yrs.

Warts are extreemily common and its possible that your partner before aquired them before you. Did you actually have the warts as in the bumps? As usually the ones that cause warts spread warts and the ones that cause abnormal paps often done show any other symptoms.

I had warts 2,5yrs ago, non since. I have a wonderful, supportive BF for the past 6months. He knows about my past with warts and so far he is fine(even after unprotected sex!)!

Good luck!

The warts that your previous partner acquired may have been related to your previous infection, but it may not have been. Over 90% of HPV infections are cleared by your body's immune system within 2 months. It is unlikely this old infection will affect future partners.
