Infection of HPV thru oral sex

Hi everybody. Thanks to the medhelp community for setting up this great forum for all health related inquiries. I just need some clarification on the oral hpv cases. I personally don't have any hpv or any STD in general but my girlfriend does have genital hpv. The only rare thing is that her last outbreak took place somewhere around Sept 2008 and she has not had any subsequent outbreak ever since. I haven't performed any oral sex on her but I would really like to do it, it's just this question that bothers me. My question is: Would it be possible for her to have her virus cleared from her body already since her last outbreak? And, what is the likelihood of me contracting an infection by me performing oral sex on her even though she won't show any symptoms at the moment? I know these issues have been over stressed enough on this forum but I want to do the right thing, do it safely and at the same time enjoy ourselves. I would really appreciate your input on it. Also feel free to add any additional comments. Much appreciated and blessings to you all.

Thank you I appreciate your response. Now my girlfriend said that even though she has the genital infection she never got it in or around her mouth. So would you think that it's safe to perform oral sex or is it just my misconception? Thank you for your time and concern...

Well the thing is oral hpv is very rare. As I'm sure you know hpv is a fact of life genital speaking nearly 80 percent will have an infection at some time in their life. I wouldn't worry about oral hpv at all. Check out ashastd.org for more info. Of course if you have more questions please ask.
