Is it really Genital Warts??

Hello,

I went to my OBGYN to have a bump on my upper-inner thigh (where my leg meets my buttocks) looked at. He said that he wasn't sure of what it was, so he removed it, via a Biopsy, and sent it to the lab.

Results came back as "suggestive" of early genital warts. Is this saying that I definitely have genital warts/HPV? I've never had an abnormal PAP. I'm confused by these results, mainly because I was brave enough to look at a bunch of pictures online (male & female) and none of the pictures look anything like the bump that I had. Also, the bump that was removed was more so on my leg/butt than on my genitals.

I have one more small bump on the my other side of my buttocks that I will be going to get removed, just in case. Are there any further tests that I can ask my OB to do, in order for me to get a more clear/definate diagnosis?? Am I just in denial about having contracted this virus?

Thanks in advance for any and all feedback!!

Update: Well, I just got back from my OB and he said that the biopsy result is not a definate diagnosis of Genital Warts (GWs). But even if they were GWs, they never cause cancer and that is what he was most concerned about.

Even after looking at the second (and last) "lesion". He still could not diagnos it as a GW for sure. He looked at my medical history and noted that everything looked good. So he burned off the last lesion, and told me to come back if it doesn't go away. Otherwise, I will just see him for my next annual exam.

The End :-)

Thanks for the feed back. I would absolutely accept & trust the biopsy result if it were 100% clear, but I dont understand why its saying "suggestive" instead of just positive. To me, this leaves room for error. None the less, I have a follow-up appointment with my OB tomorrow and hopefully I will get some answers.  Thanks again for the input!

I know when I first found out I was shocked and depressed bit it is really no big deal if it is. One it is harmless and 2 your immune system will eliminate the virus in time. Hpv is super common 80 percent will get it. Not all show symptoms however.  Go to a dermatologist for a second opinion if you feel necessary. Visit ashastd.org for more info. By the way mine never looked like anything on the Internet. Very very small and discreet no cauliflower growths or anything crazy so don't base your facts on that. Those I believe are immunocompromised immune systems (aids patients).
