Is this too fast of a progression

I had a PAP test 6 months ago and it was normal cells with HPV - new diagnosis at 34. My doctor wanted to repeat in 6 months. Just got a call that it comes back ASCUS with HPV. Previously all normal PAP's. She now wants to see me in 1 week to discuss "options." Is this a rapid progression? Is it possible that my test results would ever go back to normal - or do I always expect to have abnormal PAP's from here out?

I don't know if that is rapid or normal, I think we are all different with what time frame HPV effects us. Your ASCUS if a mild change, I also just had my first mild cell change pap and found out I have HPV. My doc had me back to do a biopsy and that showed I have the mildest of the mild stage of dyplasia and I wont go back for 6 months. I am hoping the small spot he found is gone but who knows, just like I said with the time frames..I am sure we are all different with if the cells reduce and go away or progress. I plan to be as healthy as I can in this six months! Try not to stress, your doc can answer a lot of your questions. You will also find this site and Ashastd. org the best for non-scary info.
