LSIL is not cancer. It is a diagnosis of minor changes to your cerivix. Most of the time, this isn't treated, and the doctor will simply ask that you go for more frequent PAPs. In almost all situations, your bpdy will clear the infection and heal. But the frequent PAPs will allow doctors to treat you if there is progression.
HPV is the cause of almost all LSIL, and HPV is highly contagious. Without a HPV test, you can't know which strain of HPV caused your abnormal PAP. HPV does not often effect men, apart from the strains that cause genital warts. The are infected but mostly act as cariers of the disease without having any problems of their own.
Almost everybody will clear HPV a few to 24 months.
Oh... also does that mean I cant have sex with anyone? Is it a form of HPV that causes LSIL? Am I stuck with it for the rest of my life??
