Can anyone tell me how bad the leep procedure is and how long is the recovery time. I hope I don't have to have it done. I am leaving my old job where I have lots of sick time and starting a new one with minimal time.
It can ruin your sex life as the cervix is responsible for deep orgasm. You will have scar fibrosis if done with a cauterizing LOOP wire. (A burn scar that can cause bleeding). It can cause chronic pain and pain with intercourse. A LEEP can cause urinary incontinence and bowel incontinence, damage to surrounding nerve tissue, a fissure and infection. Bleeding and prone to infections as the cervix keeps bacteria out of the uterus. The most common complaint is sexual pleasure sensation changes with deep LEEPs and intense cramping during the menstrual cycle. Also if you want to be pregnant you may not be able to carry a baby to term because of the compromised cervix. There are other options. Get an HPV test first and see if the HPV is one of the cancer causing strains, if not the body usually takes care of these. This is not a surgery to be taken lightly.
Google it on the net.....it is not bad.......a lot depends on ur state of mind b4 having it...i was relaxed...prepared.....i had it 8-07..took 20 minutes...mild cramping.I took 2 days off work and had a slight drainage for a month of what was cauterized internally.It'll be ok dear!it was for me!:)
