Painful?

UGH. I have had genital warts for about two years. Two separate doctors have identified what I have as genital warts. I have not tried any treatment yet.

I keep reading stuff like "although warts are not painful..." and "warts have no pain" which, in my humble opinion, is BULL. My doctor pretty much told me to go away and let it resolve itself. Stuff I read on the internet says basically the same. "There's nothing you can do about it, and it doesn't hurt anyway so stop whining."

I have a problem. It IS painful. They do not cause me pain all the time, but when touched or irritated, the warts become very sore. I also think that I have many very small warts growing both inside and outside of my vagina, so that any friction to the area (sex) causes burning. I asked my doctor about it, and she recited WebMD to me. "Well, they don't hurt, so I have no idea what your problem is."

ARGH. Does anyone else's warts cause pain? Could it be something else? If something else is causing the pain, I have no idea what it is. It has RUINED my sex life. I NEVER feel like having sex, because I know it will hurt so much. My BF and I are on the verge of breaking up. I'm SO sick of this.

I've seen a lot of ads for over-the-counter treatments. Do any of them work? Which ones?

PLEASE HELP.

Also, is the pain only during sex?  Many women note pain with sex when genital warts are present.  Also, are your warts strictly internal or external as well?

Why haven't they been treated in over two years?  You need to see another doctor and get these things treated.  You need to see a doctor about this pain too.  Are the warts internal and that's why treatment hasn't been tried?  Again, I would see another provider- especially about this pain!
