Question about HPV

I am abstinent right now with my boyfriend because he has genital warts.
1) I am 29 years old…can I get on GARDASIL and have unprotected sex with him and not get genital warts?
2) Hypothetically speaking, if I was between age19-26, and was on GARDASIL, would I be able to have sex with him and not get genital warts?
3) If he has them removed, and there are no warts, can I go ahead and have unprotected sex without getting genital warts?

1) I think you can pay to get the shot if your older than the limit suggested

2) You would be able to have unprotected sex with him, and not get the genital warts he had IF the warts he had were of the two strains protected by the vaccine. The vaccine protects against 2 of the most common wart strains and 2 of the most common high risk strains. He probably has one of the two wart strains the injection protects against, as those strains cause 90 percent of warts, however there are more strains which the vaccine doesn't protect against which he might actually have, so there is no definite answer to your question.

3) When his warts have been treated, he will probably be contagious for a while afterwards (I'm talking months) but when warts aren't present, the chances of passing the virus on becomes much slimmer, as warts bring the virus to the surface of the skin.

1) Im not 100% sure on the age barrier but i think it is 26 but think they may have upped it you will have to check.

2) If you had, had the 3 doses then you would beable to have sex with him and not get genital warts, but i would still use condoms or refrain from sex as sex can cause abrasions and make his healing take longer.

3) Everybody has different ideas about how long to wait after warts have cleared up, doctors on here say 3 - 6 months and you can have unprotected sex without worrying about passing on the virus
