I am a 21 year old female who was diagnosed with perianal warts about two months ago. I had cryotherapy, which worked wonderfully, however they returned, but in a different spot and in greater numbers. I would say that I had four medium-sized dome-shaped perianal warts at first and now they are smaller...I now have five on one side and on the other side it appears that a few more could be forming. Has anyone had experience with having a greater number of them after treatment? I know that about 90% of hpv cases resolve themselves, and treatment may speed up the process. However, it is discouraging to have more warts after a treatment. I am going in on Monday to have these zapped off as well and I plan on continuing treatment, but I would appreciate it if you have experiences with this similar problem, and if indeed your hpv case resolved itself. And, how long it took for clearance, I suppose. Thank you for your input.

Continue the treatment until they resolve, which they will. If you let them go untreated they will grow into your rectum and need to be surgically removed. Trust me, you do not want that - the recovery takes a good 4-6 months.
