Risk from one exposure

Hi everyone, I have a question that is probably difficult to answer but I thought i would ask anyways. What are the chances of acquiring genital warts from one exposure of protected vagina sex with a CSW? I have read many times that not all exposures lead to infection but also have read how easy hpv spreads. From other sites I have come up with an answer of as low as 1/10,000 chances of infection from one exposure all the way to 5/100 or 5% chance for infection. I am really scared bc I have been in a monogamous relationship for 8 years and this stupid terrible mistake was my only stray. With that being said if I pass on warts to my partner I am sure it will end our relationship bc she would know I cheated. I know I am horrible. I am just hoping I am horrible with a very low chance of acquiring warts. It has been 40 days pas exposure and I am running out of excuses to put off sex with my partner. Thanks for any help and everyone's patience with me. This site has been amazing. Thanks again

It is a very very low chance/risk.  This virus requires LOTS of genital skin to genital skin rubbing.  An hour with an escort is rarely enough time.

Thanks for your response! I understand everything you are saying and swear I am a reasonable person but I am just really struggling with my unfaithful actions. Is it reasonable to say that even though it is possible it is a reasonably low chance to catch hpv from one protected vaginal sex exposure? This will be my last question. Thanks again for your help

No one can definitively tell you this. Besides, was your partner a virgin when you met her?  If not, then she cannot point to your discretion as the cause of her infection, even though the odds are better for a recent infection. Not to mention, women can get diagnosed with it years or decades after exposure. Also realize that unless you were a virgin when you met her, you could have already been exposed to it and not know since men cannot be tested for it. You should not worry about this, IMO. She should get regularly tested for it and if a positive result occurs (this could be decades from now), remind her that if either of you were not complete virgins (no oral sex, no fingering, no frontage, no genital sex), then either of you could have caused her positive result.
