The chances of HPV in men clearing is good. Is this right?

I'm a man, and I'll be honest, in the past, I've performed oral sex on other men. As well as the other way around. Not alot of men, just a few. Anyway, I just read only the strains of HPV that cause genital warts can be diagnosed in men, because well, the warts. Well the other types of HPV that can cause cancers I read are unable to be diagnosed in men. Now I'm scared thinking "What if I have it?" But then I read in most cases, more often for men than women, the HPV infection will clear up on it's own. Is this true? I'm back with this girl I met in the past, and it's likely that we'll become serious. I just want to know if you think it's safe for me to get into this relationship and eventually have sex with no condom, incase we ever want to really move onto the next step, you know?

By the way, I had been tested positive for chlamydia (which was treated), but tested negative for other common STDs, including hepatitis and HIV. So I know I'm safe when it comes to those.

Thanks. And like I said, I have tested for the other STDs. All negative except for chlamydia, but I was treated for it.

If you haven't been diagnosed with it, it's a waste of your time to freak out over it.  BE SAFE.  Use condoms.  Be up front with her...and tell her that you have had some experiences with other guys.  And make sure to get tested for all the other stds that are testable.

EDIT: I read some previous posts by other members and I saw a post by Dr. Handsfield. He told a user who is worried over HPV that since it's so common and likely that you'll get HPV at some point, that it's recommended to just move on with your life without even worrying over HPV, since most everybody will get over the virus on their own. Should I also take this advice? Just move on and not even worry about it?
