Throat Warts

My girl friend was recently diagnosed with HPV after an abnormal pap smear test. We don't know what type she has yet. I have no visible warts on my penis, however, I have been having this soar feelings in my throat for over a week, as well as fatigue and a slight headache. Today, I took a look in the mirror and saw white warts all over the back of my tongue. Not a pretty site. I am now a bit concerned because I read these may be the signs of a very rare oral concer caused by HPV. I even read somewhere that  doctors may end up cutting my tongue out.... Other more reliable sources points out there should be no reasons to worry unless the pain grow and have difficulties breathing...Which one is correct? I would really appriciate a professional reply before I check with my primary care physician next week. many Thanks,

Definitely go see your doctor and possibly oral surgeon to see if the bumps on your tongue are indeed warts.

There are larger tastebuds in the back of the tongue, that are quite large, and not normally seen/thought about. Usually they are in a symmetrical V sort of shape...  You could be mistaking taste buds for warts in a panic. ;)

Oral HPV is rare. And the wart type of HPV has little to no risk of causing cancer. They advise they can remove them if you want but you could just leave them there so it shows it isn't very seriouse.
