I was treated for venereal warts 13 years ago when I was 22. I have had yearly papsPap smear Pap smears and cervical cancer since then and haven't had any breakouts. My question is can I tell myself that I no longer have this infection and believe in that? I have had 3 or 4 long term relationships since then and haven't told them and they didn't develop warts. I didn't feel guilty for not tellling them. For some reason I felt the need to tell my current bf that I had this std in the past after we had sexualCauses of sexual dysfunction Erection problems Female sexual dysfunction Sexual problems overview contact. I don't know why I felt this need, but I did in fact tell him and he ran for the hills and never called me back. I am now obsessing over the warts issue. I feel like the day I found out 13 years ago,,,dirty and no one will ever want me. Again, my question is do I still have this particular wart strainStrains and do I need to tell future partners without feeling guilty. Thank you.
You can never know if the virus is truely gone, but then again nobody knows for certain that they are not infected. A commonCommon cold rule of thumb is that once you go 6 months wart free, it is likely that the virus has cleared. Recurrant outbreaks and transmission risks would be rare.
13 years without warts is more than enough time to put this worry behind you.
