Warts, HPV and CIN3

Hi,

I have recently had the LLETZ procedure to remove CIN3 grade cells. I have clear margins and confirmed HPV. My husband gets genital warts at times which started a long time before we met. I have never had warts but did he cause the pre cancerous cells developing in my cervix and will continuing to have unprotected sex heighten the risk of the cells developing again.

Thank you.

No one can tell you if he caused your CIN or not, unless you were a virgin when you met. However when he has active warts, he is supposed to refrain from sex until they are gone for at least 3 months. At the very least he should be having safe sex until they are gone that long else they will keep coming back.

Hello,
HPV is the most common cause of cervical cancer and cervical dysplasia. In your case also, the CIN can be related to the HPV.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
