Warts! What?

My husband just go genital warts. I was tested for hpv negative in December. Has he cheated? Or is there anyway they were dorment for a long time. We have been together for 20 years. He did cheat three years ago but says nothing since then and that was just she gave him oral. Help my marriage is on the line

It's not entirely possible to say definitively one way or the other whether he cheated.  You can say that it is quite unlikely that warts have been dormant for 20 years.  Having said that it does happen.  I believe there is one post at least somewhere on this forum that claims that.  It's exceedingly rare though.  It's more likely that he was exposed sometime in the last six months but again, there is no way to really know.  

It's not common practice on this forum to speculate whether someone as heated or not.  If you suspect heating, you will hae to compile a weight of evidence case as it is not possible to know based on this alone.  If it were me though, I would find it highly suspicious because the other possible explanations are statistically way less likely.  

One thing you an do for more info is to go to the Doctor Forum for STDs and keyword search that forum for "cheating and HP" or heating and warts".  You may find some helpful words from the experts.  Good luck.
