Warts from Oral? And visible warts risks

by HLS555, Apr 01, 2009 05:32PM
My new boyfriend recently told me he has HPV after we had already been sexually active. The condom broke once and he currently has visible warts on his penis. We haven't be active since he told me because I've been waiting for some answers. Is it still safe to give oral? Or will I get oral warts because he has a current outbreak? Would it be safer to wait until his outbreak goes away to have sex again? If i do already have it will it go away sooner if we stop having sex or will it not continue to clear itself until we stop sexual contact? Is there a higher risk of getting the virus or warts sooner if he currently has them? Thank you if you can answer any of these.

Yes, you can contract HPV from oral sex. You can also contract it whether he has an outbreak or not. I'm not sure about outbreaks just 'going away.' Normally you have to have treatment to remove.
