When will it be gone??

When will it be gone??

so i was diagnosed with Genital Warts about 2 years ago.  From reading the board it seems like scrotal warts are less common but that is where i had mine.  I had 2 burned off about a year and a half ago after aldera didnt work.  After that i found some close to my rectum.  i hadn't ever had anyhting but hetero sex but somehow they migrated.  After i had those taken away i had a couple of good apointments...well i jsut found a very very small skin tag, i went in to see my Dr. and he froze it off, saying it could be a wart but just could be a skin tag too.  My question is, does the size of the wart have any relationship to how my immune system is fighting it off?  How long after getting rid of a wart is it safe to have sex?  and lastly...Would a condom protect a partner if i don't have warts visable and have never had warts anywhere other than the scrotum.

thanks.

Nearly 10% of HPV infections persist two years or longer.

I don't think the size of the wart means much in terms of your immune system's performance.

If your warts come back, it will likely be in the first 3-6 months after treatment. The longer they have been gone, the more likely they are never to come back.

Condoms reduce transmission, but are not perfect because they do not cover the entire area (such as the scrotum).

If I was in your position and had a recurrence, I would make an appointment with a dermatologist to be sure your bumps are warts. Hopefully this won't be necessary.

Thanks for the reply. Does anyone know when the 'clock starts' to becoming dormant?  Is it once you're symptom free or is it still wrking towards being dormant when you have symptoms?

Some Drs say if warts are gone in 3 months you are dormant. The majority say give it at least 6 months - 24 months. 90 percent of people 'clear' of the virus in up to 2 years
