It is unlikely you will ever be able to find out who gave you the virus since it can remain dormant. Truth be told, it should not matter at this point. Let's look forward... although there is a very small chance, your baby can develop hpv in the throat, which causes breathing issues. These issues are not known to be life threatening as long as they are taken care of. Having a C-section birth can minimize the risk, but you will want to talk this over with your doctor because they deal with these questions every day. More than likely, your baby will come out healthy and unaffected.

I found out last summer that I have hpv. I've been with my husband for 7 years, so I must have gotten it before him and it was dormant for years. We are currently ttc, and have been for a few years. The shock is really bad at first, but trust me it gets better. Hang in there.

there is no way to tell who actually gave it to you, ppl can have the virus and never know it, therefor its difficult to know, you could have had it before your new bf......almost all sexually active ppl will come in contact with hpv at some point in there life, your pregnant and should ask your doc, but from what ive read you and baby will be perfectly fine......
