Will these ever go away?

I guess i got my first warts at my vaginal opening in Nov 2015. I was way too ignorant so didn't really bother much. However in Feb 2016 I noticed two more on my labia and thats when I decided to visit my doc. She confirmed it to be genital warts and referred me to a derma.
She put me on some cream but I saw very less benefit from it. A few weeks back I went through electrocautery and she asked me to come back after 2 weeks for another sitting because they need to be removed from the roots. I did notice some clearance after the second sitting but I feel I can see new ones popping up near my clitoris. They dont look like growths but look like white bumps. She has asked me to apply the same cream i was using and get back as scheduled in a month. But I am way too paranoid.
Its like life has come to an end after all this. I am waiting for my external genital warts to end so that I can get my pap smear done so see if there are any new surprises.
My husband has no visible signs and we have always used condoms so I m surprised how did this happen in the first place as we have been married for over 3 years.
We were planning to have a baby this year but now I dont know what is going to happen.
Any words of reassurance can surely help. Is it true that the body's immune system fights the virus over time?

Thanks for your response..... You are right about it kicking in when immunity is low coz I got them when my lymphocytes count was low. I used to smoke for a year but this march onwards I ve quit smoking and alcohol hoping it helps.
How long do you think it wud take for immunity to kicking in? I have started having some oral vitamin A too...
And about the baby.... The sad part is since my husband doesn have any warts I dont want us to get intimate without me completely recoverin.

Sorry to hear about this, it is quite strange that you only got them now, I have read that some may cary the virus without any symptoms at all, It can affect you when your immune system is down, that is when the virus makes its move. But with a healthy diet, raw garlic to fight the infection, your immune system will eventually get rid of the infection, but that takes time. :) I dont think you should worry about the baby, the baby can't get the warts. Wish you the best!
