can you catch HPV with 6-7 seconds of contact

Doc-- about 16 weeks ago I had unprotected sex with a young lady(girl 1), the sex act consisted of  her performing oral on me, i penetrated her twice with my penis for about 6-7 seconds , fingered her and then realizing things were moving too fast  (without a rubber)  and we stopped. Four weeks ago she told me that her doctor had diagnosed her with cervial cancer. Having research the subject on the internet and seeing the connection between CC and HPV,  I called her asking about her HPV status, she said that her doctor didnt mention HPV as a cause of her problem. ( shes 33 yrs old , says shes only been with 5 men).

About a week after sleeping with this girl(girl 1), I had protected sex with another friend (girl 2) was had flu like symtpoms about two days after we were together. Now I'm concerned and confused. It my understanding  that there are no HPV test for men, so I dont know what to do, i dont know if my friend's flu was unrelated, i dont know if my 6-7 seconds of penetration was enough to contract HPV,  girl 1 seems sincere in not knowing how the CC developed, however by all indications (or at least what I read on the internet) is that CC is caused by HPV, i understand that even with a rubber I could transfer the virus to girl 2,  I dont have a clue what my next move should be....

Girl 1 is already stressed, do i pound her to get an answer on her HPV status? do i begin to tell other  girls i'm with that i might have something? two months ago I had an phyiscal exam for insurance purposes, i had no HIV or anything, do I go get tested for everything under the sun?

could use your opinon!!!

HPV is not the only cause of CC....any type of STD left untreated (unknowingly) can cause CC, as well as heredity, etc.  Any sexual contact can spread any type of STD, it only takes one time....just a second.  It's a good thing that you used a condom with girl #2 and her flu-like symptoms MAY just have been a coincidence..but also could be a sign of a type of herpes HSV...HPV doesn't usually have flu-like symptoms but HSV does and you can have flu-like symptoms w/o an outbreak or in women have an outbreak with no symptoms...and yes HSV can cause CC too.  Have you or girl #1 ever had fever blisters, cold sores, etc.?  If so, that IS HSV1 and you can spread it over any part of your body.  Not trying to freak you out, just make you aware.

I have read in some medical papers that HPV is necessary cause of Cervical Cancer. It is very likely that she has high risk HPV, i.e. HPV16 or 18. Whether or not you have caught it from her it is not an easy question to be addressed. Best is you encourage Girl2 to go for regular SMEAR tests in coming months to make sure she is monitored.
Sorry to be intrusive, but if I were you, I would try to change less sexual partners as it would lower my chances and my those of future partner of contracting unwanted sexual diseases.
Good luck.

Hello. Just so ya know this isn't the doctors forum, that is on a different part of the website where you pay a small fee.

You are right in thinking that cervical cancer is linked to HPV, it's just that not all CC's are caused by HPV. My guess is that if she is saying she doesn't know her HPV status, then she is telling the truth, and if her cancer was caused by HPV then the doctor would of told her, or there would be an indication of that somewhere.

There is nothing you can do as there are no tests for men, and high risk HPV doesn't affect many men as the type of male genital cancers they cause are very rare. Your chances of getting the HPV anyways are slimmer than usual as you only engaged in sex for a matter of seconds.

It is very unlikely if you used a condom with girl 2, that you passed the virus on if you were unlucky enough to catch it. I don't think you should worry, your exposure was low risk and using a condom with girl 2 lowers the risk even more so of transmitting it.

I also don't think you should 'pound' girl 1 for answers about HPV, as she has some distressing news I'm sure she is trying to come to terms with. If you can't get it out of your mind and you decide to ask her, make sure you ask gently, if there is anyway she can find out from her doc. But I generally don't think thats a good idea.

Lastly, I don't think your at a significant risk to tell partners, but that one is up to you and it wont hurt to explain it if you want.
