It's hard to say. It is possible. If you had no sex partners before your boyfriend then I would say yes, you got HPV from him. However, sometimes HPV shows up months or years after contacting it. Rarely shows up more than two years after contact. You could have contacted your HPV from a previous sex partner.

Note that in everyone's lifetime, 80% of us are going to get HPV of some sort. It's not the end of the world. Go in regularly for your exams and be proactive - get rid of that HPV, listen to the doctors. There are worse STDs out there. If you have no other STDs but only HPV consider yourself fortunate and always demand protection.

There is no way to know who and when you got HPV if both of you have been with other sexual partners. The two of you prob do share the same HPV(s) now if you have had any gential (genital) skin to skin contact.
