I recently started dating this girl, who is absolutly amazing, and we are really into each other. She knows that I have HPV/ genital warts but we still want to "be together". She told me she got the gardisil shots a few years back. How long does the shots last? I really dont want her to get it. Can anyone help?
Thank you for responding. this situation really stinks and i dont know what to do. honestly a part of me just wants to end the relationship all together, but i really like this girl and vice versa. you dont happen to know of any creams that will work without scarring and work quickly would you? again thank you for the response.
that causes warts(low risk)..you should talk to a doc about any creams to help..although you should be helping your body to suppress the infection..no drinking/smoking, reduce stress, healthy diet (dark, leafy greens and bright veggies/fruits)..you said that you have HPV but is it "active" ..when is the last time yu had an outbreak..you may want to look @ the Papillex website....
outbreak meaning warts correct? have them now and have for about a month, doctor gave me podfox or something. seems to be workin. do you know of websites with information on them i could use? thanks so much again
oh i did get tested and everything else was neg. and gardisil protects against the strainds for warts from what ive read, which means she should be good but ive also read it only lasts 4 years. im glad im getting somewhere with this, and i plan on talking to mydoctor b4 we do anything sexual involving me, and well see what he says about the gardisil. thank you!
hey, in my opinion you shouldn't end your relationship because of this. it's great that she is willing to work it out and you guys are obviously taking the right steps in doing so. i recently got genital warts and my gf broke up with me over it, eventhough i suspect i contracted it from her since i haven't had any other sex partners in the last year.
Thanks guy, I didnt end it and dont plan on it. the thing that bugs me is shes a virgin and she wants to loose it to me. n im afraid her first time even though it may be special to her, that shell get it.
use protection. i got the garidsil shot about two yrs ago and a couple of days ago i was dignose with a high risk hpv strand. and now have to do a colphosy next week. so the shot doesn't garentee anything. so just strapp up.
unfortunately if you were exposed before the vaccine it won't help against whatever strain you already have..the thing that sucks is that since gyn's don't test for hpv on women under 30 or 35 (depending on the office) ALOT of women have it and never know it,..then get the vaccine thinking that they're safe...also remeber the vaccine ONLY protects against the two most common strains of high risk hpv..there are STILL about 13 other strains of high risk that can still cause normal cell to mutate...so the vaccine is a helpful precaution BUT by no means a solid solution..the vaccine will become more precise when ALL gyn's do strain specific tests for HPV...
