genital skin tag

I was wondering if I could get some help. Recently I have noticed what resembles a skin tag on the underside of the shaft of my penis. It is an isolated bump, is flesh colored, does not hurt, and has not grown since I have found it. It is a small raised bump and when my penis is erect it is hardly noticeable. It is a single, solitary, flesh colored bump that is NOT cauliflower shaped at all. There is no rash accompanied with it, and it causes me no discomfort at all. My last STD test before I have been with my girlfirend showed nothing either. I have been in a relationship with my girlfriend for 2 years and she has had a papsmear within a year. We are strictly monagamous and neither of us has cheated on the other. Please help me figure out what is going on, it is a small bump and can only be described as either a skin tag or a clogged pore is what it mostly resembles. The surrounding area does not look irritated at all. I have been applying triple antibiotic ointment on it just for measure.

Thank you both for the advice. I went to the doctor and had it looked at. The doctor said it was nothing to worry about and they put some treatment on it to zap it off just in case.

What you describe is my exact experience except I had in the recent past prior to said discovery engaged in an unprotected encounter.

My advice is one of two things.  First I'd advise to find a doctor who will biopsy the bump and then your mystery will be solved 100%  For the way HPV can work your fears, I hightly recommend this route.  It might cost you a couple hundred all said, but the peace of mind is priceless I'd wager.  The second thing you can do is go in and have it removed.  Most doctors will try and talk you out of a biopsy.  If you remove it, you won't ever know and perhaps live as if it was.  If you are vehement about a biopsy, you will lay it to rest.  It might not be HPV, given the timing you mention.  If it's not, it's best to know for sure so you can rejoice and have sex with abandon.

For you to be sure of what it is you will need to see a doc. Because I am a woman and vaginal skin is different than the skin of the male penis I can only tell you what my warts are like. I thought them to be very much like a skin tag at first. I have pics posted. You can def have just a skin tag or you could have HPV..or something else. Sorry, there really is no way to know as warts come in lots of dif sizes, shapes, colors. HPV is common so if that is what you have try not to freakout. :)
